About the Founder
MR. MTHOKOZISI HLUNGWANA
Mr Mthokozisi Hlungwana is a dedicated and passionate healthcare professional. Mr Hlungwana is a qualified Medical Technologist by profession, specialising in clinical pathology. With years of hands-on experience in the field, he developed a deep understanding of the healthcare landscape in South Africa, particularly the disparities in access to quality diagnostic services.
Driven by a strong sense of purpose and community, Mr Hlungwana identified a critical gap; many black communities lacked access to reliable, affordable, and high-quality healthcare services, especially in diagnostics. Recognizing that early and accurate diagnosis is a cornerstone of effective medical treatment, he made it his mission to bridge this gap.
With this vision in mind, he established Nkari Medical Laboratory not only to provide world-class diagnostic services but also to restore dignity and trust in health care within underserved communities. His work continues to be guided by a commitment to equity, excellence, and empowerment through health.
